Our Scripture reading today is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.
 
Verse 14, "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
 
Jesus Christ did rise again. He did fulfill the will of His Father. All believers have hope
in Christ's finished work. Our family and friends who knew Christ as Saviour that passed
away are in the presence of God. Is there any better place to be? While we miss them, we 
rest in the fact that we will see them again. 
 
We have life because He lives. “He endured the worst that death can possibly be… It is because there was
no softening of the horror of death for Him that there is no horror of death for His people. For them it is but sleep.” (Morris) Jesus death and resurrection provides all of God's children with eternal life. Death is not to be feared
for the believer.
