Our Scripture reading today is Luke 15:10, "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
It is only natural for us to want more people to be at church each week. This is not
a bad thing to desire. The Lord Jesus puts the emphasis not on the crowds but on the
one sinner who turns to Christ to be saved. Who do you know today that needs to
be saved? Is it a family member or a friend or both? There are several names that
come to mind when I think of people who need to be saved. In fact, one young man
came to church last night for the first time. He is not saved but is searching. I am
imagining the joy in the presence of the angels when he gets saved.
Whoever it is that is on your heart, pause now and pray for them. Pray for another
Christian to come across their path and water the Gospel seed that has been sown.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict them of their need of salvation. God is still in the
saving business!
