Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 5:14, "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:"

What was it that pushed the Apostle Paul to continue in spite of opposition?  What did he rely on to finish his course with joy?  The answer is found in our verse of Scripture for today.  The love of Christ moved Paul to deliver the truth of the Gospel when it was not popular.  He had received the love of Christ and desired to make His love known to those around him.

There is no greater foundation for our ministry to others than the love of Jesus Christ.  We should love and serve others because we know how much Jesus loves us.  "The apostles laboured much, but all their labour sprang from the impulse of the love of Jesus Christ. Just as Jacob toiled for Rachel solely out of love to her, so do true saints serve the Lord Jesus under the omnipotent constraint of love." (Spurgeon)

Christ love for us will never run out!
