Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 4:7, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
A daily prayer list would not be complete without asking God for wisdom.  James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
Solomon calls it the "principal thing."  This means wisdom is far greater than riches or power.  There is no doubt in my mind that wisdom is highly undervalued by many of Christ's followers.  Matthew Henry said of wisdom, "It is that which recommends us to God, which beautifies the soul, which enables us to answer the end of our creation, to live to some good purpose in the world, and to get to heaven at last; and therefore it is the principal thing."
Is there a decision that you need to make and you cannot come up with the answer?  Stop worrying and seek wisdom from your heavenly Father.  He promised to give it if we would ask.
