Our Scripture reading today is Jeremiah 29:10, "For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy
years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in
causing you to return to this place."

The LORD kept His promise to Israel and He is still keeping His promises today.
“The exile did last seventy years. R.K. Harrison counts seventy years from the Babylonian
victory at Carchemish in 605 BC to the return of the first exiles in 536 BC” (Ryken) When God says
it will take place, we can be assured that He will keep His word. We should all be thankful for
the many promises that are scattered throughout the Bible. Each one has been or will be kept in
God's perfect timing.

When you read the Word of God be looking for these promises and claim them one by one. Every child
of God can stand on His promises.
