Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 96:13, "Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to
judge the earth: He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth."
God is the only righteous judge. Many people try to make themselves the judge,
jury, and executioner. We are fallen people and cannot give the righteous judgement
that God gives. He always does what He does according to His Word which is the
truth. The LORD will one day make all things right. “The world of men may be glad also, because
the reign of Jesus means equity for the oppressed, equal-handed justice for the poor, peace
among the nations.” (Meyer)
It is our responsibility to do right regardless of what others are doing. The family of
God should live by a higher standard than those who are still lost in their trespasses
and sins. We were created to bring our Creator glory and honour.
