Our Scripture reading today is 2 Peter 1:19-21.
Verse 20, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."
God speaks to every one and one way He speaks is through His Word. There are no special messages for certain people. The message is clearly presented in the 66 books referred to as the Bible. It is complete and nothing should be added to it and nothing should be taken away from it. Revelation 22:18-19, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
A prayer this morning must be for the translation and printing ministries that are striving to get God's Word to those who do not have it. Would you please join with me as well in praying for those who do not have one copy or sometimes even one portion of God's Word in their language or dialect? The Word of God is for them as much as it is for those of who are surrounded by copies of the Bible. Think of where you would be today without the Scriptures!
