Today's Scripture reading is 1 Peter 4:12-14.
Verse 12-13, "...think it not strange...But rejoice..."
We are reminded in these verses not be shocked when trials come into our lives, but to rejoice.  Rejoice?  Yes!  The challenges of life are coming, and we should not be shocked. We should, however, rejoice in them as we are given opportunity for God's glory to be revealed in and through us.  The challenges of life allow us to experience a little of what Jesus Christ went through.  They help our light to shine even brighter as we stay faithful to the Word of God.
In Philippians 4:4 we read, "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice."  Here is a command to always rejoice.  Rejoice when you are discouraged.  Rejoice when you are sick.  Rejoice when someone betrays your trust.  Rejoice in these unusual days.  How can we accomplish this?  Read the verse again.  We are to rejoice in the LORD.  Focus on Jesus and you will rejoice!
