Our Scripture reading today is 1 Samuel 14:6-7.
Verse 6, "And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few."
As we consider these verses, it is clear that God alone makes a majority. In this case, the people of Israel were discouraged and out numbered. Unfortunately, King Saul was not much help. Jonathan decided to take on the challenge knowing that the LORD would give them the victory. His faith moved him to action!
When we are God's side, we are on the winning side. Amen! There is no power that can overcome Him. If we truly believe that, we will be moved to action in the Christian life. Faith in God's power motivates us to advance with boldness and courage. Whether we have people who are following us or not, we have the LORD by our side. He is still willing to give the victory by many or by few. Make the decision today to "go over" and see how the LORD works on your behalf.
