Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:1-3.

Verse 3, "And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus."

The people who were on their way to the tomb were about to see a very surprising scene.  They were expecting to see the body of Jesus still in the tomb.  Read verse one again and you will see that is the case.  When they arrived, the stone was rolled away from the tomb and the body of Jesus was gone.  Had his body been stolen?  Where is the body of Jesus?

This is another one of those times when we are reading a Bible narrative that we must remember these people who were first to the tomb did not have the Bible to find out what happened to the body of Jesus.  We have the completed canon of Scripture.  There is nothing being added to the Bible nor is there anything being deleted from it.  What a blessing it is to be able to freely read God's Word every day to learn more about God and what He wants us to do with our lives.  How much time are we investing into the ONLY book God has ever written?
