Our Scripture reading today is Judges 7:20, "And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon."
Each member of each company had a job to do and an order in which to do it. This was not your typical military strategy, but it was what God had commissioned Gideon and his men to do. They obeyed God's plan and it led to a miraculous victory. Obedience always leads to blessing!
Whatever instructions God gives, it would behoove us to follow them. He has given us His Word and it contains our daily battle plan for victory. We have no chance fighting against our enemy in our own strength. It is foolish for us to try and win without using the sword of the LORD. We will not know what to do unless we spend time reading, studying and meditating over the battle plan.
