Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 8:18-22. 
 
Verse 22, "But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead."
This particular man wanted to follow Jesus, but on his own time table. He didn't want to follow Jesus until some things were in order.  It would appear this man wanted to remain in his father's house until he died and there was no way of knowing when this would take place. 
There is a great need today for men and women who are willing to wholly follow Jesus Christ now.  I am not simply referring to adults either. God is calling young people to wholly follow Him as well. We should be surrendering as well as praying for committed followers of Jesus Christ. It seems that some have been distracted in recent days and are no longer following Him. Don't get caught looking at them, but instead keep your eyes on the faithful One Who called you to take up your cross daily and follow Him.
