Our Scripture reading today is John 15:11, "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

There is no joy apart from a relationship with Jesus Christ.  He made it possible for sinners like you and me to be forgiven and have His joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.  The world continues to search for this joy in places they will never find it.  They have no desire for the words of Jesus, but that is where His joy can be found.  Fill up on the Word of God every day and the joy of Jesus will be present.

The following hymn is one I remember when the subject of joy comes up.  It was written by Joseph D. Carlson:
If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy,
Let Jesus come into your heart;
If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy,
Let Jesus come into your heart;
Your sins He’ll wash away,
Your night He’ll turn to day,
Your life He’ll make over anew;
If you want joy, real joy, wonderful joy,
Let Jesus come into your heart.
