Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 2:1-3.
Verse 2, "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
What an amazing thought!  The sin debt of the entire world has been paid for by the precious blood of God's Son, Jesus Christ.  He paid my sin debt and the payment is waiting to be applied to each individual account.  Have you made the transaction yet with God?  Have you traded your sin for His propitiation?  ("The word propitiation implies that Christ has, as our sin-offering, reconciled God and us by nothing else but by His voluntary death as a sacrifice: has by this averted God’s wrath from us.” Alford)
Sin always brings death.  James 1:15, "...sin, when it it finished, bringeth forth death."  If mankind rejects the propitiation of Jesus Christ, they will die in their sin for all eternity.  It comes down to two words: believe and receive.  Do you believe Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again?  Do you believe He spoke truth when He said He was the way, the truth and the life? (see John 14:6)  Do you believe you are a sinner and deserve to die and go to hell?  (Let me add here that these statements are true whether one believes them or not.) If so, receive His gift of propitiation today!  Ask God for your salvation and He promises to give it to you.  John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
If you have already believed and received, copy this message and pass it on to someone else!  It is our privilege and responsibility to share the Gospel with others.
