Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 15:57-58.
Verse 57, "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
When a true competitor finds his or her way onto a sports field, they have one goal in mind: victory.  It will take great effort and determination to be on the winning team.  The game of our lives is a little bit different.  We have a promise in this verse of a guaranteed victory.  It has been provided for us through the LORD Jesus.  This victory came with a high and holy cost.  Jesus Christ willing became the sacrifice for our sins.
Today, like every day, is an opportunity for us to show our thanks by living in His will.  God provided us victory, not to live for ourselves, but to live for Him.  Are you living in His will?  A verse from the youth conference last night keeps coming up in my mind.  2 Corinthians 5:15, "And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."  We can show our appreciation to our heavenly Father by dying to self and living for Him.  He is worthy of our faithful service and dedication.
