Our Scripture reading today is Luke 19:7-8.

Verse 8, "And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold."

Something happened to Zacchaeus on the inside.  He is no longer the tax collector who is stealing for his own financial gain.  We can tell that he is a changed man.  It is very evident from his own words.  He is willing to give half of his wealth to the poor and to give back four times to those whom he stole from.  This is a miracle!  How is it possible for a man like Zacchaeus to change like this?  By spending just a little time with Jesus, Zacchaeus knew he needed to change his ways.  By seeking Jesus first, he was able to change his sinful ways.  His change of heart led to his change of conduct.

The same change can take place today.  Victory is and will always be found in Jesus.  He is the truth that sets all sinners free!  He is the way that leads to life eternal!  He is the life that restores relationships!  Victory must take place first in our hearts.  Have you turned from your unbelief and turned to Christ for salvation?  This is where victory begins!  Once we have God's Spirit indwelling us, we must daily die to our will and follow God's will.  Daily victory is ours as we allow Christ to be in control.
