Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:18-20.
Verse 20, "He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God."
The Apostle Peter catches a lot of flack from time to time regarding opening his mouth before thinking.  We must give credit where credit is due in this text.  Peter hits the nail on the head and the ball out of the park!  The crowds may have had an opinion of who Jesus Christ was, but Peter knew the truth and he did not hesitate to say so.
It is the question that must be answered prior to our salvation, but it must also be answered every day of our lives after we chose to receive Christ as our Saviour.  Who is Jesus Christ?  The answer not only determines our eternal destiny, but how much we grow in grace following our conversion.  Our answer is seen in how we live our lives.  Our priorities will tell others what we really believe about Jesus Christ.  Are our days built solely around the temporal or are we conscious of the eternal?  There is a growing need for disciples of Jesus Christ.  Are you willing to take up your cross daily and follow the One you call Saviour?  Jesus and Jesus alone is worthy of our worship and service.  Yes, Peter, He is "The Christ of God!"
