Our Scripture reading today is James 2:23, "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."
One of the people in the Bible that is known by their faith is Abraham. It is said of him
in this verse that he "believed God". I cannot think of a better two word description for
the life of a follower of Jesus Christ. It takes belief in God to become a Christian. We
have to believe that His plan of redemption is true. The plan of God is true whether
we believe it or not, but it takes our belief to make it personal.
Do you believe God? Do you believe God will honour His promises? I was speaking to
a brother in Christ yesterday. His encouragement was along these lines, "We need to
believe God will provide." This morning, God is emphasizing this in my life and in
yours. Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you." Do you believe this? Our actions
reveal if we believe. Be faithful to the church house. Be faithful to His Word. Be
faithful to serve Him. God is trustworthy!
