Today’s Scripture reading is Luke 24:5-8.
Verse 8, "And they remembered his words,"
An empty tomb should have been a time for celebration.  Instead it brought fear and doubt into those who had been following the Lord Jesus.  We read of a change in verse 8.  "They remembered his words!"  It is quite possible that we too have experienced some fear and doubt in our lifetime.  Possibly in these last couple weeks these emotions have been felt even more.  In our reading this morning we find the prescription - Remember God's Word.  Some have said, "Why does the pastor, evangelist, and missionary always talk about reading and meditating on God's Word?  I have heard this so many times."  A daily does of God's Word will help us to remember.  It will help us to overcome fear and doubt.
Psalm 19:8, "The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart..."  What brings rejoicing?  The statutes of the LORD.  God's Word brings joy!!
Psalm 119:16, "I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word."
Today's Growth Principle: Even in the darkest of days, there is hope to be found in claiming the unchanging promises of God.
