Our Scripture reading today is 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those
of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

There are various ways that we can and should provide for others.  Most importantly, we
should provide for our own family.  This would seem like a good time to point out that
if we provide all the material things on this earth and leave out the eternal, we missed
what is most important.  Many Christians are providing a beautiful home to live in while
doing little to nothing for eternity.  Do we really think this is the spirit of this verse of
Scripture?  Are your priorities in line with what God wants?

I would like to admonish us to ask God to enable us to provide for the temporal and the
eternal.  We are commissioned to provide for others but especially those within our
own home.
