Our Scripture reading today is Romans 13:11-12.
Verse 12, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armour of light."
This chapter was part of my Bible reading earlier this morning. It is amazing how the
Lord does this on numbers of occasions. The Apostle Paul is emphasizing the brevity
of life and what we are doing with it. Each day that we live, we are closer to our full
salvation. We are closer to meeting Jesus Christ face to face. It is time for the children
of God to be lights in this dark world. Our life should be causing people to want to know
more about the Lord. Our lives should not be blending in with the way everyone at work
or school lives their lives. It is quite disheartening to see people who claim to be
Christians that show little to no difference than the unsaved world. This type of living
does not bring glory to God.
By the grace of God, we must continually put on the bright and shining armour!
