Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:50-51.
Verse 50, "And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them."
What they needed as Jesus was ascending back to Heaven is what we need today and every day. There is nothing like the hands of blessing from the Lord Jesus. Our enemy would like us to focus on the temporal trials that we are facing, (2 Corinthians 4:17, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;" A focus on the light affliction will soon turn to discouragement and defeat. Our eyes should remain on His blessed hands!
