Our Scripture reading today is Luke 6:47-49.
Verses 47-48, "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock."
Oh, the blessings that come from listening to the Lord and following His leading in our lives.  God is constantly preparing us for when the flood waters rise.  The Word of God is our instruction manual for building a life that is pleasing to the Lord.  It will help us to withstand the temptations and trials that come our way.  The strength of our unseen foundation is proven in the challenging times.  If we ignore the Bible, we are sure to be a castaway.  The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:27, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."  God's Word enables us to say no to our bodies and yes to the Spirit.  “Carefully note the three-fold condition. 1. ‘Whosoever cometh to Me,’ surrender. 2. ‘And heareth My sayings,’ discipleship. 3. ‘And doeth them,’ obedience.” (Morgan)
Have a great day!
