Our Scripture reading today is Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
The Lord Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice that we might have life and have it more
abundantly. Eternal life can be a present possession due to death, burial and resurrection
of Jesus Christ. He died that sinners might be forgiven and live eternally in Heaven. It
is our privilege and responsibility to die while still living. The sooner a decision is made
to die, the sooner we will accomplish much service for Him. Another truth to keep in
mind from this verse is that it is only possible to present our bodies as a living sacrifice
by the mercy of God. Not a day should go by without us thanking God for His mercy.
