Our Scripture reading today is Luke 8:9-10.

Verse 10, "And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and  hearing they might not understand."

The Lord Jesus is quoting from Isaiah 6:9 and is explaining that parables were given to people who were sensitive to spiritual things.  The parable was a doorway that led to teaching truth.  The individual would be led to the doorway and whether or not they were interested determined if they went further or stayed "outside."

I am convinced that if someone is seeking for truth, God will reveal Himself even more to them.  Everyone has the knowledge of God made known to them.  Romans 1:19-21, "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

Yesterday, we had a 20 year old young man visiting who is definitely seeking to know who God is.  Please pray that he will begin reading the Bible he was given and that Satan would not distract from the truth he has already received.  It is very encouraging to see such a young man want to know the truth!
