Our Scripture reading today is Luke 15:18, "I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto
him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,"
We pick it up in the middle of the story of the prodigal son. He took his
portion of his inheritance and wasted it on things of no value. Now, he is out of
money and has hit rock bottom. The picture in this verse is one of repentance and
humility. He comes to himself in such a way that he knows he is wrong. There isn't
anyone else to blame but himself. There is also a desire to make it right with his
father.
Keep praying for the prodigals to come back to their Father. Keep praying for those
who have wandered far from home that they might come home. Keep praying for
a breaking point in each of their lives. Also, you might be a prodigal in some area of
your Christian life. It is time to stop blaming everyone else or certain circumstances.
It is time to repent and get right with your Father. Come home, the Father really
loves you.
