Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 4:16-18.
Verse 18, "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
God is always at work in and around our lives.  We may not always see it, but He is at work.  From the pen of the Apostle Paul we discover a hopeful promise for us as well.  The Lord is still delivering us from every evil work.  There is a reminder here of the enemy and the fact that he, too, is at work.  Without the delivering power of the Lord, we would be in big trouble.  Daily victory can be claimed by the believer through the working of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God is delivering and preserving His children until His Son returns.  Our enemy cannot break us free from His all powerful and loving hands.  The Apostle Paul had quite a time on his missionary journeys.  The same God that delivered Him is delivering us today.  The same God that preserved him is preserving us today.  As we meditate on this truth, may we thank God and give Him all the glory!
