Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:10-11.
Verse 10, "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people."
The message of the angel was more than two words, but the two words that we will
emphasize are, "Fear not..." These shepherds would have been a bit startled by what
they had just witnessed. It had never happened like this before so it was only natural
to be afraid.
I am sure we would have all responded the same way. Anytime something
comes into our life that we were not expecting, it can be overwhelming to the point of
fear. Possibly you have give through something recently. Listen to those two words of
the angel - "Fear Not!" As believers, we need not fear because God is with us. God is
the giver of power, love, and a sound mind.
