Our Scripture reading today is John 12:21, "The same came therefore to Philip, which was of
Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus."
Why did the people want to see Jesus? We know there were many who wanted to see
Him because of the miracles. Possibly, they could see one them take place. Possibly, they
needed a miracle in their life. It is impossible to know the motives of everyone who
was seeking to be near Jesus Christ.
How close are you to Christ? The closer we get to Jesus, the more we will realize how
sinful we are. This should lead us to repent and seek to follow Him faithfully. It is a
good thing to be near the Lord. The more we know of Him, the better. As we learn
more, we should tell others what we are learning. The truth that sets us free will also do
the same for those who know or come into contact with.
