Our Scripture reading today is Ecclesiastes 9:10, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
After reading this verse, I was reminded of the hymn, Work for the Night is Coming. It would be wise to seek to do all we can for the LORD while we have life. God gave us His best in His Son. Our eternal dwelling place in Heaven was made possible by God's sacrificial gift. Once we are saved, it is our privilege to "work" for our heavenly Father. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Your friend,
Pastor
Work, for the night is coming,
Work through the morning hours;
Work while the dew is sparkling,
Work ’mid springing flowers;
Work when the day grows brighter,
Work in the glowing sun;
Work, for the night is coming,
When man’s work is done.
