Our Scripture reading today is Mark 12:42-43, "And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:"

The amount of what we give is not as important as what we have left over.  The Lord
Jesus makes it clear to the disciples that a poor widow was a bigger giver than everyone
else who gave.  Her gift was actually a sacrifice.  The others gave of their abundance.
What kind of offering is God asking of you?  Have you been willing to give or have you
been holding back on God?

God's Word makes ir clear that we are to give financially through the local church.  Do
you tithe and give offerings?  Malachi 3:10, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."  Have you given
your life to the LORD?  Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

Let's not be fooled by the enemy in thinking we need what God has told us to give.
