Our Scripture reading today is Acts 9:4-5, "And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."
It seems to be a theme for the week. God seeks after the lost. It started on Sunday when we learned about Adam and Eve in the garden and now today we see God seeking after Saul of Tarsus. At this point in his life, Saul is a persecutor of Christians. So much so that some of the Christians are being martyred for their faith. He would later become Paul the missionary and church planter. He, too, had his life taken due to his teaching and preaching about Jesus Christ.
God is still seeking lost sinners today. The key is are they responding to His call? It is our responsibility and privilege to continue to deliver the truth of the Gospel. We also should be praying that the Spirit of God brings conviction and convincing upon those who are receiving the message.
