Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 66:2, "For all those things hath mine hand made, and all
those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and
of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word."
God is looking for His children who are willing to humble themselves. The humble will always be
willing to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Humble people lay their will down at the feet of Jesus
and pick up His will. When we recognize our inabilities without the LORD, we are headed towards
doing something mighty for His glory. “They tremble at the searching power of God’s Word. Do you never
come into this place and sit down in the pew, and say, ‘Lord, grant that thy Word may search me and try me,
that I may not be deceived’? Certain people must always have sweets and comforts; but God’s wise children
do not wish for these in undue measure. Daily bread we ask for, not daily sugar.” (Spurgeon)
It is important that we surrender our lives to the LORD. This happens as we yield daily to His will.
Let God's Word rule and reign in your life.
