Our Scripture reading today is Luke 7:40-43.

Verse 42, "And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?"

It matters not our religious upbringing or lack thereof, we all are in need of God's forgiveness.  Romans 3:23, "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  He provided mankind with the opportunity to be forgiven through His Son, Jesus Christ.   “Christ tells the supercilious and self-conceited Pharisee by this parable, that himself was a sinner also as well as the woman, and as a debtor to God’s judgment, had as much need of his grace in Christ for remission of sin and removal of wrath.” (Trapp)

Whatever level of forgiveness we have received, it should bring us to love our Heavenly Father more and more.  Psalm 86:5, "For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and pleneous in mercy unto all them that call upon him."Where would we be without His love and forgiveness?  I have no doubt that some of us may already be in eternal judgment in Hell.  This forgiveness should cause us to rejoice as well as be willing to forgive others in our lives.
