Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 33:11-14.
Verse 11, "The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations."
It matters not what the year is or what is happening world-wide, the Word of God remains current and applicable. The word, standeth, means to remain or stand firm. Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever." Yes, we do need more of the counsel of the LORD, but I would also like to point out that we need more obedience to the counsel we already know. There are many people that have a Bible in their home, but they are not following the counsel it provides. The Word of God needs to be in our hearts not just sitting in our homes. The Word of God has what every generation needs to know God and live for Him!
