Our Scripture reading today is Romans 4:16, "Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace;
to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also
which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,"

Technically speaking, sinner are not saved by faith. They are saved by grace. We might
say it is faith in God's grace that saves us. A sinner has no merit worthy enough to
erase all of his sins. Grace is favour with God that is completely unmerited. It must be
received by faith. “Grace and faith are congruous, and will draw together in the same chariot, but grace
and merit are contrary the one to the other and pull opposite ways, and therefore God has not chosen
to yoke them together.” (Spurgeon)

We need God's grace every day. Thank God for His amazing grace!
