Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:49-52.
Verse 52, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."
The Lord Jesus as we know was born a baby.  He would need to grow physically just like you and me.  In addition, He would grow in wisdom as He grew in age.  He sets the perfect example for us to follow when He moved forward in favour with God and man.
The grace (favour) of God could be seen as Jesus Christ grew into manhood.  We would say He was growing in grace.  Remember, this was not saving grace.  Jesus Christ is the Saviour and did not need saving grace.
This is an encouragement to each of us that we never come to the place where we think we don't need to grow spiritually any more.  This simply is not true.  We must seek the Lord's help in growing in His grace each and every day.  Our growth will be seen in our relationship with God and man.  My faith and trust in God's plan will grow.  The relationships I have with family and friends will be stronger.  My focus will turn from me to others.  These and many other changes are indicators of growing in favour with God and man.
