Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 119:103-105.
Verse 105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
The Word of God provides exactly what we need for each day, week, month, and even for life. It is referred to here as a lamp. A lamp provides light for a traveler to see where he should go and should not go. It is the source of direction. There is no greater book for life's journey than the Bible. It is the ultimate guide to walking in this world.
We are to walk...
- Worthy - Ephesians 4:1, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,"
- Uprightly - Isaiah 57:2, "He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
- In the light - 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- Humbly - Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
God's Word make it possible for every follower of Jesus Christ to know how to walk in this sinful world. We can live in victory!!
