Our Scripture reading today is Luke 18:15-16.
Verse 16, "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."
The example of the Lord Jesus compassion for the younger generation is one that we must continue to follow today. He specifically said to bring them close enough to Him that He could touch them. Notice what He did not do. Jesus did not ask to baptize them, but He did desire to bless them. The laying on of hands is used to bestow a blessing on someone.
It is very important to continue to introduce children to Jesus Christ. They need to hear time and time again about how Jesus Christ came to this earth and what He did for a fallen world. We should be living the truth of the Scriptures in front of them as well as telling them the truth. They are the future church. They are the future labourers in God's harvest field.
