Our Scripture reading today is Mark 4:37-40.
Verses 39-40, "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?"
The disciples were in a boat with the Creator of the wind and seas.  The Lord Jesus had already told them they were going to the other side.  (Verse 35)  Storms have a way of distracting us from what we were doing or where we were going.  This can apply to physical storms like the one in Mark 4 or the spiritual storms that God allows into each of our lives.  These storms are meant to be faith builders.  As our faith is tested, it can be strengthened.  Our faith will be strengthened during the storms of life if we keep our attention on the One Who allowed the storm.  He is faithful and can ALWAYS be trusted.
Two encouraging truths from this passage of Scripture:
1.  He has the power to take the storm away.
2.  He is with us in the storm.
