Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 19:20, "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest
be wise in thy latter end."

As always, God speaks about various subjects close together. Just last night at a meeting
in Kamloops, I heard a preacher talk about getting counsel and then obeying the counsel.
This morning, I came to this passage of Scripture and Solomon speaks to the importance
of listening to counsel and then holding onto it. The benefit of following this verse is
wisdom when it is needed.

God puts people in our path to teach and train us. We must heed the godly wisdom and
instruction that they provide. Hearing it is good, but receiving it is very important. It
means to hold onto it. When we hold something, we make it personal. Ask God to
help you be humble enough to receive the instructions of others.
