Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 42:6, "I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and
will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;"

Jesus Christ was sent by His Father to fulfill a specific purpose. Jesus did everything
that His father commissioned Him to do. He always pleased the Father in all of His
works. The greatest work was the cross. Jesus Christ willing laid down His life so
sinners could be saved. He became sin for us Who did not know any sin. This promise
can be seen in Isaiah 42. It is a prophetic passage referring to Jesus Christ.

God is also holding us in His hand. We are His children through Jesus Christ. God is
also our keeper. Psalm 121:5, "The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand."
There is a confidence the family of God can have due to all that
Christ has accomplished for us. Our eternal salvation and security come through the
finished work on the cross and the empty tomb. Rejoice!
