Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 19:7-11.
Verse 11, "Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward."
The Word of God is filled with warnings that if we take note of them, it will lead to our protection as well as our rewards.  In fact, we could say that obedience to God's Word is a reward in and of itself.  There is a peace that comes with following the will and ways of God.
“A quiet conscience is a little heaven. A martyr was fastened to the stake, and the sheriff who was to execute him expressed his sorrow that he should persevere in his opinions, and compel him to set fire to the pile. The martyr answered, ‘Do not trouble yourself, for I am not troubling myself. Come and lay your hand upon my heart, and see if it does not beat quietly.’ His request was complied with, and he was found to be quite calm. ‘Now,’ said he, ‘lay your hand on your own heart, and see if you are not more troubled than I am; and then go your way, and, instead of pitying me, pity yourself.’” (Spurgeon)
May we not only read God's Word for information, but may we read it for our daily instructions.  God has something special for His children to do every day.  If we go into His Word seeking, we will find it.  Once the Holy Spirit leads us to it, it is up to us to apply what needs to be done.  The rewards will follow.
