Our Scripture reading today is Mark 10:17, "And when he was gone forth into the way, there
came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?"

Doing something has always been man's way of thinking when it comes to going to
Heaven. Recently, I heard someone tell me about sharing the Gospel with someone.
The individual said to them, "I understand what you are saying, but it is too simple."
This person was one hundred percent correct. The Gospel is very simple. Child-like
faith is all that it takes to become a Christian.

Mankind has a difficult time humbling themselves to receive such a simple gift. He
wants to do something for it so he can claim what he did. This is pride and not how
we come to God. Jesus Christ paid it all. Jesus Christ is the all sufficient sacrifice for
the penalty of our sins. Salvation will be given to all who simply believe this to be
true and receive Christ as their personal Saviour. Who do you know that needs to hear
this message today?
