Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:16-18.

Verse 17, "And he said unto them, What manner of communications are  these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?"

It was not too difficult to discern how these men felt due to the look of their countenance.  Everything about them on the outside pointed to how miserable they felt on the inside.  What they were talking about also revealed how brokenhearted they were regarding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  This was very challenging for them to process.

The Word of God tells us everything God wants us to know.  Our text today reminds us that there will be disheartening events that take place in our lives.  These events can and will lead to times of burden and grief.  It is not wrong for us to experience these emotions.  What we do with them is another story.  By the grace of God, we can walk through a valley knowing that our Saviour is with is all the way.
