Our Scripture reading today is 1 Timothy 2:6, "Who gave himself a ransom for ALL, to be testified
in due time."
The Lord Jesus Christ willingly laid down His sinless life that ALL sinners may have the
opportunity to be ransomed. The Greek translation of ransom means "a redemption price".
Jesus paid the redemption price for everyone. Romans 6:23 tells us what price needed to
be paid. "For the wages of sin is death..." As a sinner, we deserve to die. This death means
eternal punishment in the lake of fire. Jesus paid a very high price for our redemption.
As we consider the price He paid, it ought to motivate us to live our lives to please God
and bring Him glory. The lives of every born again child of God should be a living
sacrifice for His purpose. Romans 12:1, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service." If you are not currently living a life that is pleasing to God, it is time to repent and get busy living
for Him. It is the reasonable thing to do!
