Our Scripture reading today is Luke 11:33-35.
Verse 33, "No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light."
Within the last couple weeks, we sang the Sunday school song that came from this verse of Scripture: This Little Light of Mine.  Our Heavenly Father is Light and in Him there is no darkness.  (1 John 1:5)  He gave specific instructions to the disciples and these same instructions are to be applied in our every day life as well.  Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
As we connect it to our lives today, I believe it is God Who lit the candle in verse 33 and it is our responsibility to keep the light shining bright for the lost world to see.  God provided His Son, the Lord Jesus to be the Saviour of all mankind.  God has given each of us the Light.  This was for our own salvation, but also to be displayed that others might come out of darkness.  Are we hiding the saving Light from those in darkness?
Isaiah 60:2, "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee."
