Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
Prior to coming to Jesus Christ by grace through faith, we were living in bondage. There
is a clear change that takes place when the Holy Spirit moves into our lives. He removes
the chains of the enemy and replaces them with the freedom to live a new way. “A liberty from the
yoke of the law, from sin, death, hell; but the liberty which seemeth here to be chiefly intended, is a liberty
from that blindness and hardness which is upon men’s hearts, until they have received the Holy Spirit.” (Poole)
We have a victory in Jesus that should be claimed regularly. The eternal victory is ours,
but the daily victory is to be lived in the liberty Paul mentions in this verse of Scripture.
Every child of God is given liberty to live away from sin and live closer to the Father.
