Our Scripture reading today is Mark 6:50, "For they all saw him, and were troubled. And
immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid."
This verse goes somewhat along with the Bible message from last night. We need to be
close enough to the Lord in order to hear what He has to say. The disciples received a
level of comfort when they heard the Messiah speak. Part of our daily time with the Lord
ought to include hearing from Him. This is not audible as in Mark 6, but God's Word
does speak to our inner man. Are you listening to what He has to say?
If we are listening to the Word of God, there will be changes happening in our lives. We
no longer need to fear because God is with us. There is power to live the Christian life
because we have the Spirit in us. There will always be something that God will say to
as we walk close to Him. We can get as close as we desire.
