Our Scripture reading today is Luke 12:35-40.
Verse 40, "Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not."
Getting ready is something that is fresh on my mind this morning.  Travelling always presents a challenge to get ready and to get ready well in advance.  It is important to make sure one has everything prepared and packed for the trip.  Dr. Luke gives an admonition to us to get ready for our eternal trip.  Far greater than preparing for a trip anywhere in this world is to prepare for the return of the Lord Jesus and or our physical departure from this world.
"We all know the embarrassment of being called on when unprepared.  Jesus told everyone to be prepared for His coming — which is the most important thing anyone could ever be ready for."  Are you ready for His return?  What is there you need accomplish or try to make right?  By God's grace, we can live every day as if it were our last.  We will bring Him the most glory by living in constant readiness.
